Let's Catch Up
I do this every new year. I realize that I haven’t updated the blog in… what? a year? How embarrassing. This has been quite a year for sure. Nick started a new job earlier this year that didn’t pan out but he’s still hopeful to find something he’ll love. Our youngest daughter had her first baby - a girl - in July. It was the most precious moment of my life. I never imagined being a grandparent would be like this. I really thought I would just feel super old BUT it’s really brought some new life into our family. We are so in love with her. Another huge event happened in November. Our oldest daughter got married! The planning took over my life - literally. Lots of discussion, shopping, worrying, and so many phone calls. It was well worth it. And what do you know??? She’s having her first baby in May 2024! I’ll have two granddaughters! Life is amazing right now. I’m breathing in deep and just feeling all the things.
Since I have no idea what an HEIC file is, I can’t upload any of her wedding photos. So we’ll go with their engagement photos. I didn’t pick up my phone or camera once during her wedding. I sat back and observed… committed it to memory. Or at least I tried to.
And here’s my little peanut.
Our next little baby girl is coming soon! It’s so surreal. I dreamed about all of this happening when my kids were little believing it wouldn’t happen for a long long time. That was a lie I told myself because it all snuck up on me.
For a food blog, we sucked at updating all of our accounts. Family definitely came first… as it should! Now as we drift into 2024, we decided to refocus and get right back into the swing of things. The month of May and June will be tricky because I’ll be spending a lot of time with my oldest and her baby. I cannot wait!
Thank you for reading/listening to me!
Oh and I don’t’ want to forget - we’re going to cook more and hopefully get some more videos uploaded to our YouTube channel. I’m not the best at editing videos. Crossing all my fingers that I’ll finally figure it all out.
